Eagles avenge Game 1 loss with 13-1 win

After losing Game 1 13-4, the Lucerne Eagles came back in the second contest behind Graham Fisher's complete game effort to win 13-1.

Fisher allowed just a single earned run on five hits and no walks, while also strinkg out 15, and also added his fourth homer of the season when he took Sandy Patrone deep in the sixth inning. Michael Gonzalez and Mario Idelfonso also homered for the Eagles, and Raphael Strub led all players with three hits and three runs scored.

The two teams played a tight game through six innings with the Eagles hanging on to a 3-1 lead. But in the bottom of the seventh, the Eagles roughed up Patrone by hitting four singles and a double to take a 7-1 lead.

They added six more the following inning, with Idelfonso's grand slam off Andrea Girasole ending the game on the 10-run mercy-rule.

Game notes
The Challengers struck out 15 times, the most since also striking out 15 times against Tim Jones of the Embrach Mustangs on July 22, 2012. ...The loss was the first based on the mercy-rule since Aug. 5, 2017's 12-2 loss to the Therwil Flyers.
