Challengers lost winning ways, lose 20-3 for ninth consecutive loss

The Challengers' NLB-squad seems to have forgotten how games can be won as they dropped their ninth game in a row with a 20-3 defeat to the Uzwil Helvetics in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader.

The Helvetics led 11-0 before the Challengers knew what happened to them. The Challengers managed to score in only one inning as three runners scored on Thomas Blank's and Willy Schaub's back-to-back RBI-doubles, followed by an RBI-single by Orlando Balbuena off starter Gerber.

But the Helvetics kept pounding Challenger pitching as they scored seven runs in the bottom of the sixth inning off reliever Schaub for the final score of 20-3.

Starter Claudio Deck managed to retire only a single batter, leaving the mound having given up five earned runs on two hits and five walks.

The Challengers will now enjoy a two-week break, giving them enough time to think about how good winning once felt.
