Mustangs, Savoldelli beat Challengers 6-1

Roger Savoldelli of the Embrach Mustangs profited from the Challengers' inability to score runners, and picked up his league-leading ninth win although allowing 12 hits in a complete-game effort.

The Challengers had just a single hit with runners in scoring position and left a total of 11 runners on base while outhitting their opponents 12-9.

Casey Auerbach led the Mustangs' offense as he went 3-for-5 with 3 RBIs, while Josh Crouse and Bruno Albrecht added two hits apiece.

The Challengers' offense was sparked by Thomas Blank's double and two singles, and the only run socred.

Robert Sedin added two hits to raise his team-leading average to .471.

Tobias Siegrist, starting only his third game of the season, went a season-high seven innings, in which he gave up five runs - three of them unearned - on seven hits and three walks while also striking out five.

Andrea Girasole, relegated to a reliever role after a poor start against the Therwil Flyers last week, pitched the final two innings, giving up just one run on two hits and one base-on-balls.

Game notes
Blank's three-hit performance was his first mutli-hit game this season.
