Challengers edge Lions 9-8

After having their eight-game winning streak snapped by the Zurich Barracudas, the Challengers came back and edged the Zurich Lions for a 9-8 win.

Nick Lehmann worked three innings in relief for his first win of the season, and he led his team with two hits in three at-bats.

Adderly Sarmiento was walked three times and eventually came around all three times for a career-high three runs scored.

Starter Oliver Marty didn't fare very well in his first start of the season, allowing five runs - three of them unearned - on one hit and four walks and a hit-by-pitch, while also striking out one in 1+ inning.

The Challengers survived six errors - compared to just one by the Lions -, but Lehmann's fine work on the hill - no hits and no earned runs allowed in three innings - helped the Challengers' cause.

With the win, the Challengers still hold on to first place in the standings with a surprising 10-3 record.
