Challengers show no mercy, trash Bandits 20-5

After winning 18-2 in Game 1 of Saturday’s doubleheader, the Challengers came out firing in Game 2 against the Jona Bandits, winning 20-5.

Jesus Martinez collected five hits, including two doubles, and batted in four runs, Robert Sedin and Carlos Nepomuceno added three hits each, and rookie Wil Figueroa pitched a complete-game six-hitter for his second win of the season.

The Challengers shortly trailed 2-1 after the first inning on an infield error and a successful squeeze bunt, but after that, the Challengers pulled away, scoring at least two runs in each of the remaining innings.

In the end, they amassed 21 hits, tying their season-high set last weekend against the Wil Devils, and they also profited from five errors.
