Challengers finish in third place, face Flyers in semi-finals

The Challengers lost their 25th and last game of the qualification round on Sunday 3-12 against the Therwil Flyers and finish in third place with a 15-10 record. The two archrivals will face each other again in a best-of-five semifinal series, that will start on Saturday, September 13 at Therwil. The Zürich Barracudas will play the Luzern Eagles in the other semi-final series.

The Flyers put things out of reach in the second inning already, as they scored six runs with only one hit, but five walks and two errors committed by the C's defense. The Flyers even scored one more in the fifth and seventh frames and added another four runs in the eighth, before the Challengers scored their three runs. Juan de la Rosa Bautista led the inning off with a free pass and Thomas Blank, Jesus Martinez and Eidrys Reyes delivered three doubles to knock in three runs. Martinez drove in two while Reyes was the only Challenger with two hits.
