The Challengers again walked away as the winner of a local derby. Despite the Barracudas outhit the Challengers 10-4, the C's posted a 5-3 victory on Wednesday night. Robert Sedin went the distance, as he allowed three runs – only one earned – and ten hits with three walks and ten strikeouts, while Eidrys Reyes drove in four of the five Challengers' runs.
Barracudas starter John Tufts gave up four hits only, but ran into trouble in the first frame, as he allowed two free passes and hit three batters and Reyes delivered a two-run single to make it 3-0. And the C's added two more runs in the fifth, before the Barracudas cut the deficit to two runs in the seventh inning. But that was all Sedin and his defense allowed, as he struck out the side in the bottom of the ninth frame.
The Challengers remain in fourth place with a 5-2 record. They will host the Wil Devils on Saturday, May 25 at the Heerenschürli ballpark.
