They opened the game with five consecutive hits , including Jose Valdez' fourth homer of the season, a three-run homer, followed by Roger Brunner's double.

The Challengers sent 11 batters to the plate in the first inning and scored six times.

They added two more in the second inning on Valdez' second consecutive homer. It was his third homer in his last four at-bats.

The Challengers were already leading 8-0 when the Frogs managed their first run off starter Thomas Landis in the top of the third inning. Philippe Lehmann profited from Anubis Benitez' bobble at third base to put the Frogs on the board.

The Frogs were left stunning after getting a beatdown by the Challengers.
But Landis continued to master the Frogs, and cruised through the first five innigs with a one-hitter. He even struck out four batters in the fourth inning. This rare occurence was made possible by catcher Bryan Shemley's dropped third strike and an ensuing fielding error that put Alessandro Traina on first base.

Landis was then lifted in the top of the sixth inning with two outs after walking no. 9 batter Wiedmer for the third straight time. In came closer Valdez who pitched the final 1 1-3 innings, allowing just one unearned run. He hasn't allowed an earned run in 4 1-3 innings so far this season.

The Challengers scored five more runs in the bottom half of the sixth inning, profiting from three errors and a wild pitch.

Valdez finished the game with six RBI's, giving him a team-high 13 in three games played this season.
