Challengers 20, Eagles 10

The Challengers had an even quicker start in the second game as they scored 10 runs on seven hits in the first inning.

Eagles starter Jerome Müller (1-3) was yanked after the Challengers had batted around once in the first inning and he was relieved by Steiner who closed out the inning but not before giving up two more earned runs to boast his earned run average to 30.86. The inning was highlighted by Roger Brunner's second homer of the season and first since June 8, also against the Eagles. His shot was followed by a walk, two singles, a double, two more walks, an error and another single before Brunner grounded out to shortstop to end the inning.

Thomas Landis hit his first homer and Fabian Monn his first double of the season.
The Challengers scored four more in the second inning that left the Eagles in paralysis. Starter Roger Brunner didn't allow a run before Valdez grounded into a double play that brought home the first run for the Eagles.

They kept going as Giraudo and Fiebiger hit back-to-back homers to set the score at 14-3 after just three innings. Two more singles made the day for Brunner and Landis (6-4) took over and went for his second win of the day.

After Jose Valdes took over the mound for the Eagles in the top of the second, the Challengers' bats were kept silent and got going only after Valdes was relieved by Steiner once again. Armin Blickenstorfer">Armin Blickenstorfer started the fifth with a double and Landis followed with his first homer of the season. It took him 52 at-bats to belt his first dinger this year, the longest drought of his career.

The Eagles had their biggest inning in the bottom of the sixth as Valdes led off with a singled and Giraudo and Fiebiger doubled their feat by hitting again back-to-back four-baggers.

The game went into the seventh inning where Brunner reached on an error by shortstop Benitez, Palatinus singled, Khan grounded out to the second baseman and Lehmann also reached on yet another error by Benitez. First baseman Marcel Enz then lost his coolness and started talking with the umpire. Mister Seinige wasted no time to throw Enz out of the game after he had to listen to his complaints all day. The Eagles were left with eight players after that and nobody was left on the bench either. They had to forfeit the game, but the stats will count as the game became official after five innings.
