Challengers down Frogs 13-6

The Challengers again profited from a subpar pitching display by the Sissach Frogs, winning Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader 13-6.

Patrick Zöllig went five innings for the first time in his career, picking up his first win since July 29, 2001. He allowed four runs on nine hits and no walks, also striking out three.

His performance was backed by his teammates' strong offensive display. They collected 12 hits off Klee and Klarer, with four players getting two hits apiece.

Anubis Benitez, Chris Palatinus and Saentis Zeller hit a double each, and playing coach Anthony Bennett capped the offensive output with a huge two-run blast to straight center in the seventh inning.

An early 5-0 lead after the first inning put the game out of reach quickly for the Frogs. The Challengers sent eight batters to the plate to rough up Steve Klee. He gave up two doubles and two singles in that opening inning alone.

The Challengers never looked back, adding six more in the final two frames for the final score of 13-6.
