Sedin strikes out 13 in 9-2 win

The Challengers swept their season series with the Zurich Lions, winning 9-2 in the final contest behind Rob Sedin's strong seven innings on the mound.

He struck out 13 batters, seven of them in the first two innings thanks to a dropped third strike by catcher Craig Pycock.

Sedin also contributed with two hits in four at-bats, two RBI, two steals and two runs, solidifying his second place in the league in batting average at .465.

Saentis Zeller added three hits, leading the league in that category with 37, and both Harry Bregy and Thomas Blank added two hits apiece.

After getting just one run through the first four innings, the Challengers jumped on LJ Aguinaga in the fifth inning and also profited from two errors by his defense to score five times.

Tobias Siegrist pitched the final two innings, allowing only a leadoff walk to Holguin in the eighth inning.

Game notes
Zeller collected his 350th hit in the NLA with a single in the eighth inning. ...Bregy got his 250th total base in the NLA with a single in the eighth inning. ...With seven regular season games to go, the Challengers' pitching staff is sporting a season ERA of 3.39 which would clearly eclipse the franchise record of 3.93, set in 2004.
