After losing their first four games of the season, the Challengers erupted for 20 runs in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader for a 20-7 win.

Newly acquired Robert Sedin went 5-for-5 with five RBIs, Saentis Zeller scored five times, and rookie Matt Tsukroff went 3-for-6 with two RBIs and three runs scored.

Tobias Siegrist's 280-foot three-run homer in the first inning - his first in almost three years - opened the score for the Challengers. Siegrist went on to collect three more RBIs for a game-high six RBIs.

The Challengers added eight more runs in the third inning, with Sedin's two-run double capping the scoring that inning.

Rookie Laurens Bohlen singled in his final at-bat for his first NLA-hit, and another standout rookie, Matt Tsukroff, had three singles, three runs scored and two RBIs.

Pitcher Andrea Girasole picked up his first win of the season after losing two tough decisions to start the season. He lasted five innings in which he gave up five runs - two of them unearned - on nine hits and one base-on-balls, while also striking out two.
