Challengers edge Devils 6-3

In game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader, the Challengers' bats again went quiet.

But thanks to Tobias Siegrist's fine performance on the mound, the Challengers survived 6-3 against the Wil Devils to up their record to 2-4.

Siegrist allowed only one single unearned run in six innings, Fabio Aimi pitched two innings in relief, and Robert Sedin pitched a perfect 1-2-3 ninth inning to pick up his first save with the Challengers.

Sedin also added two more hits to his total, upping his batting average to .533 in four games.

Saentis Zeller extended his team-leading hitting streak to eight games - dating back to September 4 of last season - with two singles, going along with an RBI, two runs scored and two steals. He leads the team with a .370 batting average.

The Devils took a 2-0 lead in the bottom of the first inning on RBI-singles by Gianluca Trüb and Manuel Keller.

But the Challengers retook the lead in the third inning on Zeller's RBI-single, and Sedin's RBI-double two batters later.

They added one run each in the next three innings off Claudio Studerus for a 6-2 lead, while Aimi and Sedin kept the Devils scoreless over the last three innings.
