Sacramento no-hits Lions, strikes out 13 in 16-0 romp

The Challengers were never in danger of losing the game to the Zurich Lions, scoring in every inning en route to a 16-0 win.

Sacramento
Sacramento no-hit the Lions and cruised to an easy win.
The strong offensive output was supported by Lowuin Sacramento’s no-hitter.He went the distance in a game shortened by the 15-run mercy rule after six innings. He struck out 13, walked one and hit two batters to earn his first win with the Challengers.

The Challengers racked up 16 hits, three by Ryan Byrne and Tobias Siegrist each, and Francisco Colindres, Bryan Shemley, Jesus Martinez and James Sanders all added two hits apiece.

The closest the Lions came to score was in the first inning when Juan Guzman went all the way to third on a failed pickoff attempt by Sacramento that couldn’t be handled by first baseman Harry Bregy.

After that, the Lions had only two more runners reach as far as second base.

Game notes
Saentis Zeller’s single in the sixth inning was his 400th hit in the NLA. …Siegrist singled in his 1’800 plate appearance in the second inning.
