Flyers use big 5-run inning to overpower Challengers 6-3

The Therwil Flyers needed just one big inning in which they scored five runs to put away the Challengers 6-3 in Game 2 of their season opening doubleheader.

Hideori Oshima pitched seven innings for the win, while his brother Takanobu Oshima picked up the save by tossing two shutout innings in relief.

Although outhitting their opponents 10-4, the Challengers’ hits were untimely as they went 2-for-11 with runners in scoring position. Two hits and an error led to five runs for the Flyers in the third inning, making a loser out of James Sanders.

Saentis Zeller once again led the Challengers’ offense as he went 3-for-5 with two runs scored.

Game notes
Chris Palatinus’ single in the second inning was his 450th hit of his NLA career.
