Steffen no-hits Devils in 25-0 shutout

After scoring 27 runs in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader, the Challengers scored 25 more in Game 2 against the Wil Devils.

Simon Steffen threw the third no-hitter in Challengers history, going six innings and missing a perfect game only by a walk, a hit-by-pitch and an infield error. The only other pitchers to achieve this feat were Gustavo Salami in 1990 and Willy Schaub on June 13, 2004, but Steffen is the first one to allow no run in the process.

Tatsuhiko Watanabe, Jesus Martinez, Rob Sedin and Thomas Burger each collected three hits, with Sedin and Watanabe adding career-high six RBIs each.

Game notes
Luigi Cinardi collected his 50th hit with an RBI-single in the sixth inning. ...Martinez hit his 20th homer with the Challengers with a solo shot in the fifth inning. ...The 52 combined runs scored in the doubleheader are the most since getting 55 against the Zurich Lions on July 22, 2001, and scoring 56 runs against the Spreitenbach Red Barons on June 15, 1996.
