The Challengers committed a total of seven errors and already trailed 5-0 after just three innings. The score was 12-2 after 6 1/2 innings and the mercy-rule would have gone into effect, if the Challengers wouldn't have been able to score in their half of the seventh.
Facing a situation they have never been in before, the Challengers regrouped themselves and collected four runs off Lions starter Kölliker that trimmed the Lions' lead to 12-6.
But that was all the production the Challengers had for this day and the Lions cruised to an easy 15-6 victory.
Best player on the Challengers side was Harry Bregy who went 3-for-5 at the plate and pitched nine innings, allowing 15 runs (10 unearned) on 19 hits and two walks.
