Zöllig had his best game of his career as he retired the first 11 batters of the game before giving up a single to Doyon in the top of the 4th inning. Eight of those 11 batters were retired on strikes, and all eight of them were in order.

Zöllig (4-2) finished with 17 strikeouts, a career-high, and just two walks given up to earn his team-leading 4th win of the year. He struck out Wassmer, Müller and Steiner three times each, and he also struck out three other batters twice.

The Challenger defense also had its best game of the season, committing just one error, a fumble by rookie Oliver Deck.

The Challengers scored twice in the third inning on two RBI-singles by Willy Schaub and Zöllig, respectively, off starter Baumann.

They added three more in the fifth inning on yet another RBI-single by Zöllig, a throwing error by shortstop Grossenbacher and Manu Schretzmann's run-scoring ground out.

The Truck Star scored their first and only runs in the top of the sixth on Doyon's two-run single and Kupferschmid's RBI-double, the only extra-base hit of the game.

But the Challengers got two of those runs back as they profited from yet another defensive error, and Christian Bülte's RBI-single for the final score of 7-3.
