After pitching a complete-game eight-hitter in game 1, the Challengers profited from Chour's shaky performance to start the second game, sending 14 batters to the plate. He lasted just six batters before being lifted for Andermatt who faced the next five batters without retiring any of them. Finally, Testerini relieved and pitched the rest of the game for the Hawks.

The Challengers received three bases-loaded walks, and also had RBI-singles from Thomas Hüppi, Willy Schaub, Harry Bregy and Stefan Eisenring, for a commanding 9-2 lead after the first frame.

Challengers starter Räber was nearly untouchable, but was nevertheless lifted after three innings, allowing no earned runs on three hits and one base-on-balls. Bregy pitched the final four innings for his first win of the season, allowing four more unearned runs to score in the fifth and sixth inning.

But the Challengers' victory was never in danger, as they added two more runs in the third and fourth inning on RBI-singles by Cameron Minns and rookie Sami Mikkonen.
