Challengers lose, again, 22-4

The Uzwil Helvetics had no mercy with a slump-ridden Challenger team, getting nine hits, and profiting from 12 walks and three costly errors.

The Helvetics had just two hits more than the Challengers' total of seven, but they also stole 14 bases, compared to just two by the Challengers' runners.

Helvetic pitchers also allowed only a single walk while striking out five batters.

The Helvetics put the game away in the early innings as they led 9-1 after 2 1/2 innings, chasing starter Claudio Deck after he failed to get an out in the top of the second inning.

Tobias Siegrist relieved and pitched the next three innings, allowing just two runs, but his offense didn't manage to close the gap. By the time he left the mound, the Helvetics still led 10-3, and they added some more off relievers Beni Blank and Willy Schaub.

Schaub allowed seven runs in just two innings, giving him an ERA of 28.34.

Orlando Balbuena got three hits and also collected a game-high three RBI's in a losing cause.
