Frogs show no mercy, trash Challengers 30-4

The Sissach Frogs showed no mercy and pounded the Challengers for a second time. Only it was much worse this time as the Frogs declassified their counterparts with a 30-4 packaging.

Willy Schaub
No Challenger team has ever given up 30 runs in the past five years, but the Frogs profited from extremly sloppy defense and a poor pitching performance by the Challenger squad.

Reliever Willy Schaub alone gave up 17 runs - four of them unearned - in just innings, the worst ever performance by a Challenger.

Starter Beni Blank, who relieved in Game 1, didn't fare much better as he left the mound after 1+ innings, having given up 10 runs - three of them unearned - on five hits and four walks.

The darker Schaub's performance on the hill was, the brighter his offensive performance was. He hit two doubles and collected all four Challenger RBI's.

The only other two hits were singles by Manuel Schretzmann and Orlando Balbuena.

Everything else to mention than the Frogs' power offense would be a waste of space. They combined for 22 hits, including seven doubles. They also stole 11 bases off a helpless battery, featuring Schaub und Schretzmann behind the dish.

It's useless to argue that the win by the ice hockey team ZSC Lions the night before had an affect on the team's performance. It's easy as this: Either you're ready to play or not. If not, better stay at home than letting yourself torment like that.
