Roger Burger downs Kobras with winning RBI

In game 2 of the day Manuel Schretzmann took the hill for the Challengers against the Rümlang Kobras.

Schretzmann stayed solid for 4 innings, allowing 3 hits and giving up 1 unearned run while striking out 6.

His offense provided him with 4 early runs in the second inning on singles by Thomas Burger and Roger Burger and groundballs by Wascar De Leon and Gregory Zingg.

After two scoreless innings Schretzmanns day was spoiled by a 2-RBI-triple by veteran J.P. Mottl.

Mottl scored on a wild pitch and Schretzmann followed with a hit batsman who scored eventually on passed balls after the battery had switched.

Thomas Burger was as untouchable as in his record-breaking outing earlier that day, giving up only one unearned run that gave the opposing Kobras the lead for the second time in the game.

Still in the lead, the Kobras sent Jeff Mottl to relieve the rapidly tiring starter Montag with runners on first and second and no outs.

Mottl retired Corsin Jost on strikes, but Oliver Marty drove in the tying run with a single.

In a bases-loaded jam Mottl struck out Gerry Obeng for the second out, and had to face Roger Burger.

And Roger stayed perfect at the plate for the game, driving in the winning run with his career-high fourth single in four at-bats and ending the game.
