Challengers hold on to 9-5 victory

After four losses, the Challengers finally found their winning ways, holding on to a 9-5 victory over the Wil Devils.

After a disastrous first game that day, the Challengers turned around their defense, committing only two errors compared to 10 in Game 1.

The pitching wasn't there were it should be, still giving up six walks and 13 hits, but it was enough as the Devil batters went 3-for-15 with runners in scoring position, stranding a total of 22 batters on the bases.

The Challengers broke a 1-1 tie in the fourth inning on Simon Saxer's two-run single and a throwing error by left fielder Baumli.

The Devils got two runs back in the top of the next inning, but the Challengers scored three more in the bottom half of the inning on Nick Lehmann's 3-run homer, his first of the season, for a 7-3 lead.

Josh Crouse picked up two RBI's for his team in the sixth and eighth innings, but it wasn't enough as Saxer picked up the win by pitching 1 2-3 innings in relief, and Lehmann picked up his first save of the season.
