7Barracudas Academy dominates Challengers 19-7
Fynn Himmelsbach launched a home run and drove in multiple runs as Zürich Barracudas Academy rolled to a 19-7 victory over the Challengers. Nael Frey earned the win in relief, allowing three earned runs across 3.1 innings with two strikeouts.The Challengers took an early 4-3 lead in the first inning behind a sacrifice fly from Noam Blickenstorfer, a two-run double by Joseph Stotz, and an RBI single from Jimmy Siemers. The Barracudas had previously pushed across three runs in the top of the frame via an RBI groundout from Tiago Lutz, an RBI double by Fynn Himmelsbach, and an error. The Barracudas took control of the game with an eight-run third inning. The rally included an RBI fielder's choice bunt from Liv Himmelsbach, a two-run single by Kai Wilson, three runs scored on wild pitches, a passed ball run, and an RBI single by Tim Brüderli. The Barracudas added another run in the fourth when Kai Wilson scored on an error, and expanded their lead to 12-4. In the fifth inning, Fynn Himmelsbach blasted a two-run home run to center. The Challengers answered with three runs in the bottom of the fifth, highlighted by Bastian Kämpfer's RBI double, a double steal in which Kämpfer stole home, and an RBI single by Ilai Blickenstorfer. Barracudas Academy sealed the win with a five-run sixth inning featuring a bases-loaded walk by Nils Brüderli, a sacrifice fly from Tiago Lutz, a two-run double by Fynn Himmelsbach, and an RBI single by Tim Brüderli. Tiago Lutz struck out all three batters he faced in the bottom of the sixth to close out the 19-7 victory. Jasper Freigang took the loss for Challengers 2 after allowing five earned runs in 2.1 innings.
