Zürich Challengers Overcome Early Deficit to Defeat Luzern Eagles 13-6

Carmen Lutz-Demetz earned the win on the mound and drove in two runs at the plate as the Challengers powered past the Luzern Eagles 13-6. Luzern's Noelani Scazzarielllo took the loss in relief.

The Luzern Eagles jumped out to a rapid 5-0 lead in the top of the first inning behind RBI singles from Rio Sanchez, Michelle Keller, and Dominique Höin, alongside bases-loaded RBIs from Hannah Grace Hotz and Noelani Scazzarielllo. The Challengers immediately responded in the bottom of the first with five runs, using sacrifice flies from Kirsten Rene Schmidt and Karen Elizabeth Hendren, a Tanja Neff groundout, and consecutive RBI walks from Marianne Martina Aellen and Simona Cellar. Zürich took its first lead in the second inning when Lutz-Demetz scored on Schmidt's second sacrifice fly of the game. Luzern tied the score 6-6 in the top of the third when Flavia Crameri scored on an error. However, Zürich reclaimed control in the bottom of the third with a two-run single from Lutz-Demetz. The Challengers widened the margin in the fourth inning as Lara Müller brought in two runs on a fielder's choice and Aellen added an RBI single. Zürich capped off the scoring in the fifth inning with RBI singles from Marina Vaccaro Brüderli and Müller. Lutz-Demetz struck out three over four innings to secure the victory for Zürich.
