SG Eagles/Challengers grounded by Flyers

The SG Eagles/Challengers lost twice to the first-placed Therwil Flyers on Sunday, June 3 at the Klopstockwiese. The Flyers jumped off to a good start, as they scored 14 runs in the first frame to put things out of reach and they added another seven in the second inning, as Lena Gfeller capped the inning with a three-run homer over the center field fence. The SG Eagles/Challengers managed to score in every inning, but eventually the Flyers posted a 24-8 victory.

Fabienne Baumgartner delivered two doubles and she and Anouk Lkharrazi reched base three times and scored two runs apiece, while Alexandra Meikle drew a walk and scored a run in her first career game.

Game 2 was all Flyers, as Kelsea Garthoff tossed a one-hit shutout with five strikeouts and the Flyers cruised to an easy 18-0 win. Carmela Sullivan had the only hit for the SG Eagles/Challengers, who will face the Wil Devils on Saturday, June 9 at Reussbühl.
