2nd derby goes to the Barracudas

The Challengers saw their four-game winning streak halted, as the Barracudas took the Wednesday night game at the Heerenschürli ballpark posting a 6-2 victory over the C’s. Starter Tobias Siegrist had not enough support from his offense and the defense committed several costly errors, as the Barracudas scored three times in the fourth and seventh innings each. The Challengers scored their only two runs in the bottom of the second frame to cut the deficit to 2-3, as Robert Sedin and Bryan Shemley singled in one run apiece.

Kurt Kovac and Robert Sedin led the Challengers’ offense with two hits each, while Tobias Siegrist allowed six runs – only one of them earned – and seven hits with two walks and four strikeouts in 6.1 innings of work.

The C’s remain in fifth place with a 4-5 record. They will face next the Luzern Eagles on Sunday, June 10 at Reussbühl.
