Back and forth, back and forth, NLB-Team lose to Barracudas

The NLB-Team lost for the first time in 2011, as the Zurich Barracudas posted a wild 10-8 victory over the Challengers on Wednesday, May 18. The two teams combined for 14 hits, but also 13 errors and three unsuccessful suicide squeeze plays. The game saw four lead changes till the Challengers tied the game again at 8-8 in the bottom of the eight inning, as Gabe Staub scored on a wild pitch. But the C’s threw it away, as Stefan Spring and Farid Bekkali made it 10-8 on the last two errors from a sloppy Challengers defense.

Yanik Probst, Kurt Kovac and Alex Gordon had two hits apiece, while Fabio Aimi pitched 3.2 innings of relief, giving up one hit and one run with two walks and six strikeouts in his debut in a Challengers uniform.
