The Challengers finished in second place in this year's Zurich Spring Tournament. The C's came up short, as the defending champion Tübingen Hawks posted a 8-0 victory over the C's in the final. The Challengers kept their hopes alive with being just two runs down after four frames, but the Germans selt the deal by scoring six more runs in the last three innings.
The Challengers were already qualified for the final of the 16th edition of the Spring Tournament after day 1, as they opened the tournament with a 3-1 victory over the Zurich Barracudas and adding another win in Game 2, as Tobias Siegrist tossed a no-hitter in a 7-0 win over the Dominican All Stars.
The Hawks won the Spring Tournament for a record 6th time, after already winning the trophy in 1999, 2004, 2005, 2007 and 2012.
The Challengers will face next the Swiss National Team on April 17 in a friendly game at the Heerenschürli ballpark, before opening their 2013 campaign on April 20 against the Therwil Flyers.
