Challengers move into fourth place

The Challengers swept the Zürich Lions in a double header on Sunday, July 20 at the Heerenschürli ballpark to improve their record to 9-7. The C's moved into fourth place just 0.5 games behind the second placed Luzern Eagles. Game 1 against the local rival was a close affair, as the Challengers posted an 8-5 victory. The C's scored six runs in the second inning, but the Lions battled till the end. Robert Sedin and Eidrys Reyes delivered three hits apiece, Bryan Shemley went 2-for-5, while Tobias Siegrist recorded his second win of the season, as he allowed two runs and four hits in five innings of work.

Game 2 was all Challengers, as they cruised to a 10-0 shutout win in big parts thanks to Ryan Byrne's no-hit performance and 15 strikeouts. Sedin and Reyes again had three hits each, while Francisco Colindres added two hits and scored a game-high two runs.
