The Challengers finish in third place at the Qualifier European Cup Tournament at Brest, Belarus with a 3-2 record. James Sanders was credited with the win and the save, while Tobias Siegrist belted two triples and drove in a game-high five runs, as the Challengers posted a 12-8 victory over BK Vilnius from Lithuania on Friday, June 20 in what was their final game of the tournament. The Ukrainian champion KNTU Kirovograd won the best-of-three final series 2-1 against the host Brest Zubrs.
Meanwhile the Swiss champion Bern Cardinals won the Qualifier Tournament at Brno, Czech Republic. After reaching the final with a perfect 5-0 record the Cards sweeped Kranjski Lisjaki from Slovenia in the best-of-three final series. It is for the first time ever that a Swiss team has won a Qualifier Tournament.
