Just like in Game 1, the Challengers again scored 12 runs in the first three innings to take any suspense out of the game early on.

The Challengers' defense improved compared to the first game, committing only two errors, both in the final inning.

The Challengers batted around in the first inning, getting five hits and one walk.

Another six batters walked to the plate in the second inning, giving emergency starter Mark Fehlmann a hard time on the mound.

Starter Thomas Landis controlled the Eagles' offense most of the way, allowing only four runs on five hits in five innings.

By the time he left the mound, he and his offense had built up an 18-4 lead.

Thanks to a grand-slam homer in the third inning, Landis collected six RBI's, the most since also getting six against the Eagles on May 13, 2001.

Manny Marchant collected four RBI's, after getting five in Game 1.
