Flyers, Koller dominate Challengers in 11-3 win

The Challengers couldn't figure out Stefan Koller, and Daniel Eichenberger went 4-for-4 in the Therwil Flyers' 11-3 victory over the Challengers in Game 1 of Saturday's doubleheader.

Landis lasted only 2 2-3 innings in his shortest start of the season.

It was all Flyers from the beginning on, as they built up an early 6-1 lead off starter Thomas Landis after just three innings.

Landis was yanked after just 2 2-3 innings, his shortest outing as a starter since pitching only one inning against the Zurich Barracudas on August 11, 2001.

He surrendered five earned runs on five hits and six walks while striking out two, giving him his second loss of the season.

He was relieved by Geovanni Ureña who pitched two scoreless innings.

But the Challengers' offense just couldn't come through against a brilliant Koller on the mound. Tobias Siegrist's run-scoring ground out accounted for the only Challenger run in the first six innings.
