Challengers rough up Frogs 10-4

The Challengers got a convincing win against the Sissach Frogs on Sunday, beating them 10-4 in Game 1.

Thomas Burger went seven strong innings, giving up only four runs - three of them earned - on six hits, two walks and two hit-by-pitches, for his second straight win.

The offense was sparked by Jesus Martinez' two-run homer off Christian Klarer in the fifth inning, while Chris Palatinus added four hits and two RBI's.

Although the Frogs took the lead twice in the first two frames, the Challengers answered back both times and chipped away run after run from Klarer.

Four runs in the seventh inning made Klarer's day, and the Challengers were assured of the win.

Thomas Landis pitched the final two innings, allowing only a single hit in the eighth, and three walks in the ninth.

Thanks to two pop flies and a 6-4 fielder's choice, Landis closed the game in convincing manner.
