Challengers win in five on double-mercy-rule, 20-0

After getting a blowout win in Game 1, the Challengers once again dominated a helpless Eagles lineup in a 20-0 rout in Game 2.

Sanders pitched two perfect innings only to leave the win to reliever Palatinus.

Tobias Siegrist was the man of the game by going 3-for-5, including a two-run homer and five RBI's collected.

Thomas Landis and Ueli von Burg were the only other Challengers to get more than one hit, but it was enough as the Challengers outhit their opponents 14-1, paired with a flawless defense.

The Challengers started off the gates with a 10-run first inning off Ronaldo Reyes. Siegrist had a double and a homer in the inning, while Reyes conceded four walks.

Reyes was relieved in the second inning by Rosalio De La Rosa, but he didn't fair much better, allowing 10 more runs the rest of the way.

The game was called due to the double-mercy rule after five innings.

Chris Palatinus picked up the win by tossing three shutout innings in relief of James Sanders. It was Palatinus' first win since August 11, 1996, a span of almost 13 years and 341 games.

Game notes
It was the Challengers's first errorless doubleheader since playing a perfect defense against the Wil Devils on June 25, 2006.
