Tobias Siegrist pitched five fine innings in which he gave up only two runs on six hits and one base-on-balls, while also striking out six en route to his second win of the season.

The Challengers outhit their opponents 15-6, taking profit of Stefan Haltmeier's poor pitching who conceded 12 walks, and a horrible defense that committed nine errors that led to 12 of the runs being unearned.

Siegrist and the two newly acquired players Tom Huston and Ueli von Burg had three hits apiece.

Huston belted his second homer of the season, a grand slam in the third inning with two outs.

In that third inning, the Challengers sent 15 batters to the plate who scored 10 times.

The Eagles got on the board in the bottom of the third inning when they were already trailing 13-0. Marc Hurschler's single plated Ronal Veras for the Eagles' first run.

But the Challengers achieved their goal of winning every inning by getting two runs back in the top of the next inning on run-scoring ground outs by Thomas Landis and Jesus Martinez.

Both sluggers went hitless in the game, joining Thomas Blank as the only starters without a hit.

Von Burg collected a season-high three hits.

In the bottom of the fourth, the Eagles got their second and last run on Raphael Strub's run-scoring fielder's choice.

After scoring four more runs in the top of the fifth, Siegrist retired the top of the Eagles lineup in the top of the fifth in order, giving way to reliever Chris Palatinus to close out the game.

He did just that by striking out the side in the sixth.

That ended the game due to the double-mercy rule after six innings.

Game notes
It was Siegrist's first career starting assignment on the hill. ...The nine errors were the most by an opposing team since the Embrach Rainbows committed nine errors on April 21, 2002. That game also marked the last time the Challengers scored 23 runs in a game. ...Palatinus collected his 300th RBI in the NLA as he singled in the sixth inning to drive in Manuel Schretzmann.
