Challengers shut out by Barracudas 15-0

After scoring only three runs in the first contest of Sunday's doubleheader, the Challengers were completely shut down in Game 2, scoring no runs in a 15-0 defeat.

Only two Challengers ever reached third base in the game, and the two hits were the lowest offensive output since also getting two hits in September 2, 2006's five-inning game against the Sissach Frogs.

Nevertheless, the two teams had a good one going through seven innings, as the Barracudas held on for a 7-0 lead.

But in the eighth, the Challengers' wheels fell off, and reliever Adderly Sarmiento, in only his second career appearance on the mound, allowed eight runs on three walks, a double and a hit-by-pitch.

After retiring the first two batters of the inning, the Challengers' defense committed four errors that made all of those runs unearned.

Carlos Nepomuceno had one of the only two Challenger hits.
