Siegrist named MVP

TobiasTobias Siegrist earned his fifth MVP award at the General Assembly on December 5, after walking away with the trophy already in 2005, 2006, 2008 and 2009. Siegrist led the Challengers with 45 hits and 19 walks and set team-leading marks on the pitcher’s mound with 6 wins, 103 strikeouts and 107.2 innings pitched. He also finished second in doubles with 10, runs scored with 27, 10 stolen bases, a .360 batting average, a .442 on-base percentage and a 4.18 ERA.
Brian Hipps set team-highs with 45 hits, 13 doubles, 34 runs scored, a .469 batting average and a .552 on-base percentage and ended up with 25 RBI’s, 2 homeruns and 16 walks, earning him the Best Batter award.
James Sanders went a perfect 4-0 with a 1.41 ERA and 22 strikeouts in 32 innings pitched, earning him the Best Pitcher award. Chris Palatinus received the Best Fielder award, while Yonimiler Martinez was credited with the Most Improved Player award and Yanik Probst was named Rookie of the Year.
