Challengers lose night game

The Challengers lost the first night game of the season against their local rivals Zurich Barracudas on Friday night at the Heerenschürli. The Barracudas offense erupted for 13 hits in five innings to build a 9-1 lead. It took some time till the C’s arrived in the game, but Chris Palatinus and Harry Bregy started the rally with back-to-back singles in the seventh inning, as a two-run single from Bryan Shemley cut the deficit to two runs. But the Barracudas ended the threat by scoring three runs of their own in the ninth frame to eventually walk away with a 12-7 victory. The next local derby will take place on Sunday, May 10 at 4 pm at the Heerenschürli ballpark, as the Barracudas celebrate their pink ribbon night.
