Challengers avenge Game 1's loss with 25-1 win in 5 innings

Just like in Game 1, the Challengers and the Zürich Barracudas combined for an uncharecteristic 26 runs, but this time, the runs were distributed more one-sidedly.

<a href="http://www.challengers.ch/playerprofile/brunner-roger/?liga=NLA" title="See Player Profile for Roger Brunner">Roger Brunner</a> controled the Barracudas throughout the whole game.

Three Barracuda pitchers combined for 18 walks given up, Tobias Siegrist did the most damage in the offense as he went 3-for-4 and collected a career-high eight RBI's, and starter Roger Brunner threw a gem by giving up only one unearned run on two hits over five innings.

It was the most lopsided victory in Challenger's history since winning 33-4 against the Zürich Lions on July 22, 2001.

The Challengers scored 11 runs in the first innings off Nderim Coma, Farid Bekkali and Frank Berchtold.

The Barracudas emptied their bullpen already in the first inning after Coma managed to retire only one of the ten batters he faced.

Reliever Bekkali came on, but was ejected by home plate umpire Jose Beier for repeatedly spitting into his glove on the mound.

Tobi Siegrist collected a career-high eight RBI

That left the job for Berchtold, who managed to get the final two outs of the first inning.

But by then, the Challengers had already scored 11 unanswered runs.

The Barracudas could score only once as Lombriser's ground out plated Coma.

The Challengers, on the other hand, went on to score in every innnig, and the game was called after five innings due to the double-mercy rule.

Five Challengers ended up receiving three walks each. Anubis Benitez, Chris Palatinus, Thomas Landis, Brunner and Harry Bregy accounted for 15 of the team-record 18 walks.
