Challenengers offense strings together 11 runs

The Challengers had almost twice as many hits as in Game 1, and committed just one error to beat the Zürich Barracudas in Game 2 of Sunday's doubleheader to salvage a split.

The Challengers took the lead in the first inning and never looked back.

Anubis Benitez scored on Thomas Landis' RBI-single.

The Barracudas got that run back on James Sanders' RBI-double, but it was all Challengers after that.

Starter Nderim Coma had a bad day as he was roughed up for four runs on four hits and four walks in just three innings.

Three walks and an error in the second frame gave the Challengers an early lead.

Coma made way to reliever Frank Berchtold, and he did a good job - at least for one inning.

In the fifth inning, the Challengers combined for four hits and three walks to score four times and extend their lead to 8-1.

Thomas Landis improved to 3-0 on the season.
Thomas Landis improved to 3-0 on the season.
Farid Bekkali took over from Berchtold with two outs in the inning, and one of the runners he inherited went on to score.

But the Challengers weren't finished yet, scoring three more runs in the top of the seventh.

RBI-singles by Chris Palatinus and Roger Brunner, plus an error by first baseman Fabian Monn gave the Challengers an unsurmountable 11-1 lead.

Starter Landis (3-0) was still on the mound in the bottom half of the inning, and he went on to complete his game for the first time this season.

He finished with two runs given up on five hits and five walks, while also striking out eight.
