The Challengers took the first contest 14-11 by breaking a 10-10 tie in the seventh inning.

Thomas Burger worked the first six innings for his first ever win against the Barracudas, giving up nine earned runs on 14 hits and no walks, while also striking out four.

The 14 hits given up were his second highest total of his career.

Thomas Landis worked the final three innings, giving up only one more hit and a run for his first save of the season, and his fourth of his career.

With the game tied at 6 all after just three inning, the Challengers scored two each in the fourth and fifth innings on Thomas Blank's RBI-double, a balk by reliever Andi Eugster and Tobias's Siegrist's two-run double, his 11th of the season.

But the Barracudas came back and tied the game at 10-10 in the bottom of the sixth on Nderim Coma's two-run homer, a run-scoring fielder's choice by Farid Bekkali and Carlos De Los Santos' RBI-single.

In the top of the seventh, the Challengers made a winner out of Burger by getting two more runs on back-to-back doubles by Chris Palatinus and Blank.

Landis came on and allowed one run to score on Georgiev's run-scoring fielder's choice, but that was all the Cudas got off him.

He only allowed one more baserunner in the final two innings by hitting Coma with a pitch.

His offense further cushioned the lead by getting a run on a ground out by Landis and an error by second baseman Marc Schnider for a 14-11 win.
