Siegrist reaches milestone in 16-0 shutout of Devils

Tobias Siegrist singled home the game-winning run due to the double-mercy rule in the bottom of the sixth inning with his 600th hit in the NLA, giving his team a 16-0 victory over the Wil Devils in Game 2 of Saturday's doubleheader at the Heerenschürli.

James Sanders tossed a complete-game two hitter, with both hits - two doubles - by lead-off batter Diego Gladig. He didn't walk a batter and struck out three en route to his first win of the season.

Robert Sedin led the offense with 3 hits to boost his team-leading batting average to an even .500. Sanders, Gabriel Holguin, Juan Guzman and Francisco Colindres had two hits each.

NLB-regular Daiki Sato also was in the starting lineup, his second appearance in the NLA since getting a start against the Lucerne Eagles on April 17, 2011.

Siegrist is only second to Thomas Landis' 675 on the all-time list for hits. ...Sanders tied Farid Bekkali for 10th place on the Challengers all-time list for games started with 22. ...Gabriel Holguin singled in the fourth inning in his 100th plate appearance in the NLA with the Challengers.
