Sedin, Challengers keep playoff hopes alive

The Challengers remain on track for the playoffs after a huge 8-0 victory over the second placed Zürich Barracudas on Wednesday night. The result matched with the charity event the Challengers are running for the organization Swiss Transplant.
Pitcher Robert Sedin tossed eight magnificient innings of two hit ball, allowing four walks while striking out six. He also led the offense with three hits and drove in three. The players of head coach Clayton Carson had a great start, leading 3-0 after the first frame thanks to a RBI-single by Tobias Siegrist and Francisco Colindres’ 2-run single. And the C’s selt the deal in the fifth after Barracudas pitcher Chris Michals had to leave the game with an ankle injury, scoring three more runs to make it 6-0.
The Challengers are now tied for third place with the Luzern Eagles with a 9-9 record. The C’s will face next the Therwil Flyers on Sunday at Therwil.
