Winning streak stopped, C’s split with Eagles

The NLA-Team saw its winning streak halted at nine, as the Challengers split with the Luzern Eagles on Saturday, August 16 at the new ballpark at Reussbühl. It was a pitcher's duel in Game 2 with the Eagles taking the win by a score of 2-1. Lowuin Sacramento tossed 9.1 innings in his first start for the C’s allowing two runs – one earned – and six hits while striking out 11.

 

Prior to that the C's celebrated their ninth victory in a row, as they posted a 9-4 win Game 1. Eidrys Reyes broke a 3-3 tie with a two-run single in the seventh inning, before the C's added four more runs in the eight. Robert Sedin and Säntis Zeller had three hits each, while Harry Bregy and Tobias Siegrist scored two runs apiece. The C's remain in second place with a 13-8 record. The two teams will meet again on August 23 for a night game at the Heerenschürli ballpark.
